Tell us what brought you to Pearl and what skills you acquired in each of your previous roles that helped get you to your current role?
I Joined the Pearl family after the Pearl and Maximus CCO teams merged last year. I started on the Marketplace line of support in October of 2021. By the Summer of 2022 I moved up to Dual CSR, supporting both the Medicare and Marketplace lines of business. Since that time, I have mentored new Marketplace/Medicare CSR’s. Each day is a new day to grow my skills to better meet the needs of not only the calls I take but also my teammates that need assistance.
What are your career goals?
Nobody knows what the future holds. I take each day as it comes and look for any means to grow. I guess the only set back that can stop you from reaching your goals is yourself. If you push yourself and find any means to improve your skills and better yourself, then nothing is out of reach.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned in your job?
When you think it’s the same issue over and over your wrong. Each call we take, to a degree, may be the same issue, but each issue affects the caller in a different way. I use my existing skills as well as the skills I’ve learned to connect with those I’m helping so I can address their needs.
What is your advice for someone who may be interested in pursuing a role in your current field?
Never give-up on your goals. For those on the CCO project, I will tell you, if you’re Marketplace and the idea of doing Medicare has your nerves on edge, don’t fear. Once you start and get use to how the system works, you will do great. Each one of us brings skills that makes the team strong and able to meet the needs of those we serve on a daily basis.

Playing Golf with my youngest son.
