Tell us what brought you to Pearl and what skills you acquired in each of your previous roles that helped get you to your current role?
Pearl is honestly the best job I have ever had, where I have been able to create long lasting relationships with my coworkers. Previous roles taught me to be compassionate & empathetic, which is key in using your soft skills while talking to consumers that are upset. Most of the time when someone calls into a customer service line, they have an issue that needs to be resolved or just have questions. Making someone feel validated while giving them accurate information is vital in any position at any company but especially working with Marketplace, insurance questions.
What are your career goals?
Being at Pearl has given me the motivation to “climb the ladder” and be successful professionally. I hope to graduate with a degree in Business in the near future and to grow here at Pearl and future endeavors as well! Seeing so many others grow with the company has contributed to my growing motivation. I know that it’s possible.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned in your job?
The biggest lesson I have learned at my job is how important it is to be constantly evolving. Things are ever changing with the Marketplace, and you have to be consistent with everything so that the consumers are all getting the same information from all of us.
What is your advice for someone who may be interested in pursuing a role in your current field?
My advice would be to pay attention to detail, while you are at work- you are there to work. Be attentive and compassionate and always do your best, not just the bare minimum.
What is a Fun Fact that many of your coworkers may not know?
I’m a three-time national champion clogger.
Do you have a special talent or any hobbies?
Something I think people would be surprised to know about me is that I am an Arrowhead collector. Growing up on a farm in Kentucky my dad would take me hunting and I have hundreds on display in my house from all the years of collecting!
