Talent Acquisition Participates in Happy Hour!
Outreach is a vital part of promoting Pearl’s Social Mission. Our team establishes relationships in the communities we serve and with organizations alike with a primary focus of recruiting to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. This month, the Workforce Referral Development Team will join Direct Employers during the 2022 Reach Out for Happy Hour Series.
Conducting outreach to organizations serving veterans, individuals with disabilities, women, and minorities is an essential piece of workforce diversity efforts–and we’re eager to join the conversation.
Wednesday, October 12th We will hear from Hesperus: This organization provides pathways to education and employment for members of rural and tribal communities. Hesperus is dedicated to supporting underserved tribal populations, with a focus on veterans, including Native American Veterans and their families, and creating educational and employment opportunities across the United States through skills training, workforce development, and technology.
Wednesday, October 26th We will hear from EARN: As part of our National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebration, we will receive a refresher on how to recruit, hire, retain and advance people with disabilities; sharing why workplace inclusion of people with disabilities matters; and how EARN’s resources can help.
SWEET 16 WELLNESS CHALLENGE
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in honor of this important cause, the Talent Acquisition Team has been participating in a SWEET 16 WELLNESS CHALLENGE during the final 16 weeks of 2022, and we would like to share an important reminder with you.
SWEET 16 WELLNESS CHALLENGE #4 – If you are over the age of 40, regardless of gender, talk to your doctor about potential screenings to know your status.
Not only are we encouraging buddy checks, self-exams, and scheduling annual mammograms for females, we would like to bring awareness to Breast Cancer in men. 1 in 100 breast cancers diagnosed in the U.S. are found in men. Although rare, it is still important for men to routinely check for any noticeable changes. Men with breast cancer usually have lumps that can be felt with self-examination. Lowering your risks includes leading a healthy lifestyle and scheduling general screenings.
