November 2024 – Let’s Talk TA

Let’s Talk TA!

A snapshot of October Talent Acquisition and Recruiting Activity.

Talent Acquistion

At Pearl Interactive Network, the mission of Talent Acquisition and Recruiting is to identify and attract individuals who can contribute to the company’s mission of delivering high-touch, white-glove customer service experiences. We focus on hiring from economically challenged areas, people with disabilities, military spouses, and veterans, reflecting our commitment to social impact and diversity. Our Talent Acquisition team works tirelessly to source, interview, and select candidates who align with Pearl’s values of customer satisfaction, teamwork, and quality service, ensuring that the company continues to provide exceptional service to its clients and community. We communicate our brand message to potential candidates through a multifaceted approach that includes, but not limited to, our website, social media, and through community outreach.

The fourth quarter took off to a great start and maintained its level throughout our peak recruiting season. And while recruiting is a year-round event, as we nestle into the cozy fall season, we are reminded to rest and recover to reset for the new year.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging is in Pearl’s DNA!

As a social enterprise, Pearl was founded on the principle of offering hiring priority to a niche and skilled work force of those who experience barriers to employment.

Members of Pearl’s Talent Acquisition team attended DEWorks’ first virtual DEI conference – Diversity University, as a Workforce Development Initiative

The fall season brings many opportunities to celebrate diversity, with Hispanic Heritage Month, LGBTQIA+ History Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and Native American History Month all taking place within weeks of one another.
Participants had an opportunity to refresh their awareness to support outreach efforts that further our mission.

Diversity University Courses
• The Excluded Executive’s Guide to Inclusivity Aptitude
• Intentional Inclusion in Indian Country – Empowering Partnerships with Tribal Vocational Programs
• Recruiting and Retaining Hispanic/Latinx Professionals in the Workplace
• The Intersection of LGBTQ+ and Disability
• From the Reel World to the Real World: Improving Representation On-Screen & Beyond
• Outlast the Temporary
• Diversity University Commencement

The Diversity University event hosted by DEWorks offered a thorough exploration of various aspects related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The Workforce Development Team gained valuable insights and innovative concepts that can enhance our approach to employment sourcing, marketing, and the interview selection process. Among the topics that resonated with the team were intentional inclusion and the importance of empowering partnerships.

It is crucial to educate organizations and individuals involved in hiring and selection on how to intentionally foster inclusivity, especially considering the unconscious biases we may unknowingly carry.
