A snapshot of January’s Talent Acquisition and Recruiting Activity. It’s a new year
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is in Pearl’s DNA!
As an EEO, Pearl was founded on the principle of offering hiring priority to a niche and skilled work force of those who experience barriers to employment.
Celebrating Black History Month 2023 “Black Resistance”
“Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” – Congressman John Lewis
Today: Diverse and Inclusive Companies Thrive
In the early 1900s, Henry Ford made a commitment to diversity. He offered higher pay than virtually any other employer and intentionally attracted African American workers. We all know how that panned out for him. His company became one of the most successful businesses in modern times. It wasn’t a fluke.
According to research by McKinsey:
- Companies in the top 25% for racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more financially successful over their industry norms.
- Those in the top quarter for gender diversity perform 15% better than their peers.
- Those in the bottom 25% for racial and gender diversity are more likely to underperform.

Courageously Finding Passion Through Pearl
Are you customer service focused? Do you enjoy helping others? Are you a problem solver? Do you also know someone who resonates with these qualities?
Working in customer service is not always the easiest job, but it can build competence that can be carried with you for years to come. From accelerated training to establishing people skills, many jobs in customer service teach individuals things they may not learn elsewhere about work, people, and life. Some people are attracted to customer service because it’s ever-changing and can be exciting; while some shy away from it for the same reasons, especially in a call center environment.
The call center industry provides a unique work experience where passions can be realized. We believe you should work in our remote or onsite call center environments and stick with it at least one year to fully maximize the benefits you’ll gain. Why?
- Many call-center jobs are fast-paced and often unpredictable.Being able to learn this type of flexibility and versatility can help you in any future career. It can also help you remain alert and ready for anything. When you must be ready for a call to come in, it can be exhilarating. It can also teach you to go with the flow and roll with the punches. These are all excellent skills in the working world.
- Not all customer service calls are created equally.Working at a call center can help you with your coping skills. Coping skills might include how to deal with an angry customer or someone with a problem you can’t seem to solve. Working in a call center can teach you problem-solving skills. It can also teach you to reach out to others and work as a team.
- Being able to work and thrive with other people that have differing personalities is an incredibly valuable tool. You can most definitely take this skill anywhere. At a call center you may be dealing with hundreds of different personalities daily. It is a true skill to be able to treat them all as individuals. It is also helpful to learn how to relate to each individual person in an effective way.
- For the office-like environment.Perhaps working in a call center is your first taste of being in an office-like environment with cubes, computers, phones, and office hierarchy. Learning this at a younger age could prove to be beneficial in the future. Working in a call center is a professional environment where people can feel like they are a part of something bigger.
- Many call centers are very goal driven.Expectations might be high. Experiencing this type of work has proven to motivate many individuals. Doesn’t it feel good when you set a goal and achieve it? These are the types of experiences you will obtain while working at a call center.
