Current job title: Talent Acquisition Specialist – Corporate
Tell us what brought you to Pearl and what skills did you picked up in each of your previous roles that helped get you to your current role? I reached 4 years with Pearl on July 30, 2022. I was looking for a remote Recruiter position and saw an ad for Pearl Interactive Network, Inc. posted online and applied. I have worked in HR/Recruiting for over 20 years and prior to joining the Pearl TA team, worked for some of the largest companies in the Columbus, Ohio area. Each of my roles have entailed recruiting candidates for positions in Customer Service/Call Centers, IT, Engineering, Accounting, and Administrative roles.
What are your career goals? My future job aspirations are to keep recruiting and working with candidates to help them find the right job which fits their qualifications.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned or the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your job? Talent Acquisition can be very fast paced at times, in fact there are times where a call center project launches rather quickly and you must pivot and make the time to recruit, screen, test the candidates and ensure that everything is done within a short period of time. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, I always want to feel like I have found the best candidates for the position, so being able to adapt and change when needed is something I learned how to overcome early on in my career.
What is your advice for someone that may be interested in pursuing a role in your current field? In my role, you must have a drive to help people, show empathy and patience. The ability to help candidates find the right job is very rewarding.
What is a Fun Fact that many of your coworkers may not know? I have always wanted to be a Vet because I love animals and have always had a soft spot in my heart for any animal and helping them. I have a Collie dog named Shane and we love to take walks in the woods.
Do you have a special talent or any hobbies? I love the outdoors and like living in the country, where I can garden and raise my own fruits and vegetables. I also love antiques and restoring them and spending time with my husband and son.
