Career Path:
My career path was not an easy one. I come from an area that does not have a lot of jobs available for someone like me. Until Pearl, I had trouble finding employment that suited my needs. I did all sorts of small jobs… anything I could to in order to make ends meet. That sort of made me a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ in some respects. I did customer service jobs, freelancing, and a ton of other things. Nothing fit me as well as Pearl does.
Career Goals:
My future aspirations have to do with what I’m studying. I am in graduate school studying animation. I hope to be involved in television animation in the future.
Biggest Lesson/Obstacle:
My biggest obstacle and lesson in my job is learning that I am capable of whatever I set my mind to. Before working for Pearl, my self-value was at an all-time low. I was having a hard time finding good employment. I was applying for jobs that didn’t pay me anything, although any paycheck was better than no paycheck. But with Pearl, I’m paid a livable wage and I’ve been able to do things that I have only dreamed about. I was able to purchase a home for me and my family through my employment with Pearl. For the first time in a very long time, me and my family have a place to call home.
Advice:
I’m not much good at giving advice to others, so I’ll just give the advice I needed to hear when I was first starting out. You’re worth a lot more than what you give yourself credit for. You’re also capable of doing much more than anyone thinks is possible. All you need to do is take that chance once it’s given to you and run with it.
Fun Fact:
A fun fact about me is that I designed the coloring book for my local tourist center. It’s based on the city’s local history.
Hobbies?
I’m an artist, if that wasn’t obvious based on my other answers. I’m pretty good, or so I hear from my professors. Joking aside, I love art and all kinds of it. I paint, I draw… anything I can get my hands on to make a bit of a mess I always find a way to do something.
