HRSA VICP/CICP, Pearl’s second prime contract and second contract with the Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA), started in November of 2021. The program has 4 dedicated Communication Specialist staff members and 1 Quality Analyst who support individuals with inquiries regarding two different programs:
- Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP)
- Counter Measures Injury Compensation (CICP).
The HRSA VICP contract assists in providing financial compensation for individuals who may have been injured due to receiving a vaccine. We inform the individuals about the VICP covered vaccines, how to submit a petition to receive compensation through settlement or provide a list of Vaccine Lawyers in their State. The HRSA CICP contract provides compensation for covered injuries or death as a result of the administration of a countermeasure. The team advises individuals on how to submit a claim, provides updates on the status of claim, and sends paper forms by request. The current call volume on this contract is between 1000 and 1500 calls per month.
The VICP/CICP team is small, but has proven a value to HRSA as they seek to improve the citizen experience with both programs. The Pearl team performs fantastically, and the program received the “highest possible ratings” from the government in our first annual review.
