TA Celebrates Diversity, April Is Autism Awareness Month
During the month of April, celebrate and embrace differences, be it gender, race, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, or other factors.
By appreciating our similarities and differences, the month aims to get people to foster a deeper understanding of others, regardless of who they are, what they are, or how they live. It is also an opportunity to increase diversity in the workplace.

According to Kerry Margo ‘s 44 Things to Know About Autism Acceptance Month “Many people with autism have key interests that can be utilized by employers in the workplace. (i.e., just because you have a disability does not mean you do not have abilities)”
People being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder has been a common occurrence since the 1990s. What also has been a common occurrence in more recent times is the ongoing lack of employment opportunities for adults with Autism. In the United States, autistic employees have faced an uphill battle when it comes to securing steady employment. However, there have been some success stories in the autistic community along the way.
