Hello, Pearl Team.
While we are appreciative each and every day for those who have served, Saturday, November 11th, 2023, is a day set aside when the country and our company take pause to express our deep and sincere appreciation to our nation’s 19 million Veterans. It is a day to honor them for their selfless, brave, and devoted service to our country and our freedoms.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every Pearl employee who has served in our armed forces. We will forever be in your debt for the extraordinary sacrifices you and your families have made on our behalf. You have all answered the call with unwavering courage.
I stand strong in the Pearl mission to be a Military friendly company. I have learned so much from our Veteran employees and have been so appreciative of the time I’ve been honored to spend with them. Know that I will continue to support you to the best of my ability. I hope you all had a safe and happy Veterans Day and that you found meaningful ways to observe the day.
In addition to honoring Veterans Day this month, I would also like to take a moment to wish our active and retired Marines at Pearl, and across our country, a very happy 248th Birthday to you and your Corps, which takes place on November 10th every year.
On November 10th, 1775, at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, the Second Continental Congress approved the creation of two battalions of Continental Marines. This day is more than an observance of a moment in history. The Marine Corps Birthday is a cultural touchstone linking generations of Marines together. It’s a yearly reminder to every Marine, past and present, that they are a part of something much greater than themselves and that each generation of Marines must be worthy of the sacrifices of the previous generations and set the example for future generations. Happy Birthday, Marines.
