Current job title: SSA – Ticket to Work Program, Program Analyst
Career path: Prior to starting at Pearl, I worked as a Claim Processor/Examiner in the insurance industry for two years. From that role, I learned how to manage time effectively and to be detail oriented. I have been with Pearl for 8 months now, where I have been able to gain more experience and further develop my analytical skills.
Career goals: I enjoy developing myself and working with various people.
Biggest lesson/obstacle: My biggest obstacle, particularly for this role, is analyzing each case accurately. Every day I handle cases with different scenarios I have not been taught or previously exposed. By not being afraid to ask questions or getting help from SSA trainees when needed, it’s enabled me to maintain high accuracy on my cases.
Advice I think it is more important to focus on the “quality” of your work than the quantity of work completed, or calls handled.
Do not be afraid to ask questions. My husband used to say, “asking questions is still better than being sorry.”
Fun Fact: A fun fact about me is that I am a pianist. Although I cannot play as good as I used to, I still enjoy playing as often as possible.
Hobbies: I like baking and cooking. When my family and friends really enjoy the food I cook, I feel very happy and satisfied.
