October isn’t just for Halloween. It’s also National Learning and Development Month and is a celebration of knowledge and growth. October is a great time for everyone to commit to doing something for their own development.
National Learning & Development month provides the opportunity to reframe our perception of the value of learning and development. L&D would like to encourage everyone to think about and participate in some sort of learning. Not sure how to get involved?
Here are a few ideas:
1. Invest in Your Own Learning and Development
Whether you take a leadership class, listen to a TED Talk, host a book club, take free online classes, or find a mentor… the possibilities are endless! Use this month to learn about Pearl’s learning & development offerings, which may include e-learning courses, webinars, lunch and learns, and more.
2. Cultivate a Culture of Learning within your Teams
As a leader, think about how you can encourage learning within your teams and commit to implementing that. As an individual contributor, make time in your daily, weekly, and monthly schedule to learn. If you’re having trouble creating a goal, check with the L&D team to get help with creating an individual development plan. We can help you create and achieve your learning goals.
How will you invest in your personal development? How will you help others reach their professional goals? Have a cool idea or suggestion? Be sure to share it with your manager, your leadership team, or the L&D department.
